Week 2!

Hello everyone! I hope the challenge is going well for everyone. I've noticed that for me, weekdays are pretty easy to stay focused and on top everything, but weekends are when things get hard.

Also, just so everyone knows the final total of the pot is $720! So with that said, I want to let you know that there has been a slight change to how the winners of the competition will win the money. The person with the MOST POINTS at the end will win half the money, which is $360. The person who gets SECOND PLACE in the points category will win $60, and third place will get a prize too, but it's a surprise. AKA, I am still thinking about it.  The other $300 dollars will go to the person who loses the MOST PERCENTAGE OF WEIGHT. I hope those changes are alright with everyone. Let me know if you have questions.

Last week we focused on what was most the difficult part of the health challenge for each of us,so this week I want to focus on one way that this health challenge has benefited you.

So once again post the following in the comment section of the blog:

1. Your first name and last initial with your total points earned from the challenge itself--up to 208 for this week.

2. How much weight you have lost. If you stayed the same or put on weight just put 0. (make sure you weigh yourself tonight, to find out how much you lost from last Sunday night)

3. What has been the biggest benefit of this challenge so far?

If for some reason the blog isn't letting you post your results just email them to me and I will post them for you. And if you have any questions let me know!

Good luck to everyone!

And here is the point structure again:

Total points possible per week are in parentheses

3 points--64 oz. of water (21)
3 points--no eating after 8:30 pm (21)
3 points--2 servings of fruit (21)
5 points--3 servings of vegetables (35)
5 points--No sweets/treats, expect you can have 3 servings of some kind of treat through the week. (last time we did this we had one cheat day, and we found that we would usually pig out on that day, so we feel three "cheat" servings will be help us not get carried away) (35)
5 points--Keeping a food log (35)
5 points--30 minutes of exercise (five days possible--25)
---OR---
7 points--45 minutes of exercise (five days possible--35)
5 points—weighing in every Sunday night and posting how much you lost on the blog by Monday morning at 10 AM. (5)

3.This health challenge has helped me find a really good balance. I have a really bad sweet tooth, and I tend to overeat when it comes to my dessert foods, but this challenge has helped me curb that. I also don't usually eat my veggies, so this challenge has help me alot in both of those two categories!

    -1 lbs, yes I gained a pound. :/

I've learned how to portion my food a lot better. And also I agree with Thomas, I never was good at eating fruits and veggies, but now that I have been eating more I enjoy them more.

3- I love how motivated I get by earning points, I have a weakness for chocolate and fast food restaurants late at night and earning points totally keeps me in check. I got a Nutribullet this past week, so getting my share of vegetables and fruit has become much easier.

    3. This challenge is helping me change senseless overeating habits. I never realized how much snacking I do during the day without thinking about it, or how much I overeat at meals if I'm not counting. It's kinda scary how fast it all adds up without any notice.

The eating journal is the biggest thing for me. I never think about how many calories are in a handful of goldfish, but now I know!

I've really enjoyed the challenge so far. One of the biggest things that's been helpful is staying away from sweets. I usually crave some kind of treat late at night but since I can't eat after 8:30 I tough it out. If its earlier in the day some blended up fruit does just fine as well. I've also loved the my fitness pal app. It tracks my daily calories and tells me how much I have left in the day so I can plan my meals pretty good and eat effectively!

    3. The hardest thing i seem hard to accomplish is the points and trying to get every single one. I'm really picky regarding fruit. A lady had fruit she was giving and it was precut in a bag. im trying a low carb thing just for two weeks and hopefully can bring some more fruit in my life.
